I’ve been singing since I was three years old.  At an early age I began studying voice at Willoughby Fine Arts Association.  I was soon was named the lead female vocalist in their Mozart opera.  I performed in many theater productions at the Lake Performing Arts Association and the Fine Arts Association and often secured lead vocal parts.  I sang in many church and school choirs which helped me learn and understand the structure of singing harmonies.  I also attended the Ohio State Harmony Camp upon the invitation of my high school choir director.
I’ve won many singing contests and had the opportunity to make two CD’s at Big Mama Recording Studios in Tennessee.  I won first place at FYE music store competition providing me the opportunity to perform as a soloist in Las Vegas in a national TV commercial.  I have performed multiple times in Nashville including a TV show called National Spot.  I sang the National Anthem for the American Heart Association several times.  I was named Shining Star of Lake County in 2012.  I was a semi-finalist in the world wide Voice of McDonald’s contests two separate times.  In 2009 I was labeled as one of top 30 vocalists in the world and 2013 I was in the top 25 out of 10,00 entries from multiple countries.
Alex Bevan wrote and produced a Laketran commercial for our Northern Ohio Transit Authority which I sang and recorded with two of my friends..  I have performed as one of three lead vocalists in a 9 piece group (The Girls) which opened for entertainers such as David Allen Coe and was also the side stage opener for Toby Keith at Blossom Music Center.
While I was in college I won Greek Idol at Kent State University which raised money for Make-A-Wish.
I love all types of music especially Country and Classic Rock.  I even studied Brazilian music at Baldwin Wallace College Latin Jazz Summer Camp.
I currently hold a Bachelors degree in Music from Kent State University.  I perform regularly in a Neil Diamond Tribute Band called “The Diamond Project Band”.  Also, I am in a duo called “White Magnolia”.
I currently work as a Supervisor in the cyber security division of a global Accounting Company.

Sophie Jackson

Picture
Sophie Jackson has been singing her entire life, her parents always telling her that she sang before she spoke. Her love of music came from her father, a member of The Casuals: An American Polka Band. She spent her summers growing up on the Cleveland festival circuit, watching him play.
When she was 8, she joined The Cleveland Singing Angels where she spent eight years performing 3-5 times a week at venues like The State Theatre and Lorain Palace Theatre and travelling, the highlight of her time with the Angels being performing at the Vatican for the Pope.
The Singing Angels is also where Sophie met her best friend and lifelong singing partner, Laura Fedor. When she was 16, Sophie and Laura competed on the final season of NBC's Nashville Star as a duo where they made it to the Top 6.
Shortly after returning home, she joined Hey Victory!, writing and performing orginal music and playing gigs at venues like The Grog Shop before taking a break from music altogether for a few years.
In 2016, Sophie and Laura met Gene Guercia and the three formed Sunset Harmony, an acoustic trio. Sunset Harmony became popular at acoustic venues and private events throughout Northeast Ohio and after a couple years, in 2018, they decided to expand to a full band, as well. With the addition of Richie Jackson on lead, Ryan Bellinger on bass and Bob Wick on drums, they formed Follow the Sun.
Currently, Follow the Sun is Sophie's main musical endeavor, playing multiple gigs a week, including private events and festivals, around the NEO area. Sophie is excited to see how far Follow the Sun can go and is honored to be nominated for Best Female Vocalist 2022!
